New look and feel for Quixtar.com

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Visit Quixtar.com starting today and you'll see a sleek new look and feel for the web site...including a login page that showcases the spectacular products available to customers and to support IBO businesses.

The consumer view has been redesigned  to make it easy for consumers to shop and find the products they want.  And, of course, it offers information about starting a Quixtar business for those who want to move beyond being customers to being in business for themselves.

The IBO Home Page offers quick and easy access to all the products and brands with just one click.  And check out the new Resource Center for IBOs, a one-stop portal for all kinds of business support information, like downloads in several languages.  There's lots to use and explore!

Here are a few of the changes you'll see:
  1. The log-in is now in the upper right hand corner of the site. Click the text link and you will be brought to the log-in page.
  2. We've enhanced search, making it easier to find what you need. The search function box is below the log-in on the upper right hand of the screen and is now more robust, delivering your items faster.
  3. To check out at any time, simply click on the cart link also at the upper right hand of the site. The link will dynamically indicate how many items you have in your cart at any time.
  4. Find Products can now be found under Shop by Category and Shop by Brands.
  5. Build & Manage My Business has been changed to Manage My Business.
  6. Place & Track Orders has been integrated into the Manage My Business.
  7. Quixtar & the Opportunity is now called Start a Business on visitor view and as a link at the bottom of the page in IBO view called Quixtar Opportunity.

Let us know what you think about these changes to your web site.  We're working on more updates and enhancements and welcome your feedback.

The site is looking real good.As an IBO I would to have site that identifies in particular for examplea: Quixtar.com/my ibo# so my clients don't have challenge remembering my #. This concept could also be added to all the new sites that quixtar has like simplynutrulite.com artistry.com all these sites should be folowed by an IBO # as part of the address. Thanks

I think it's pretty cool. It's looks very contemporary, and the navigation is incredibly easy. It's definitely something we can be proud of when we show it to a prospective new QBO or customer.

The new site is modern, up-to-date and beautiful!

I would like to see a "printer friendly" option in the Cart. Although the pictures of the products do help confirm that I ordered the correct item, I don't like to see it in my print-out.  It is a waste of paper.

Thanks

The new look is quite refreshing and compliments the other changes presently evolving at Quixtar.

I love the new look of Quixtar.com, it's clean, simple and designed following the tendencies of Web 2.0

However, I think there is still a thing that needs to improved a bit more, and that is SPEED. This new site, despite it looks lighter than the previous, is in fact much slower.

It's great some elements of AJAX were implemented on the shopping cart, which avoids annoying round trips to the server, but there are some other parts that would have been benefited from AJAX as well, like Products' browsing and display. It becomes painful clicking the categories on the left side  menu, because page views take up to 5 seconds to load, and after browsing some few products and categories you get tired of such slow response, and believe me, my 6.0 Mbps DSL connection is anything but slow.

Dear development team, I've got one word for you: Caching

You are writing your code in ASP.NET, then unveil its power and speed with data caching. C'mon, its not that difficult to code.

(Fellow IBOs, don't worry if you don't understand what I'm talking about, my hope is someone from the development team reads this, and they will definitively understand)

Finally, the only thing I really, really, really don't like in this new version is that now my personal PV/BV information is flagrantly shown in the main page, after logging in, without any possibility of hiding it. This is a major flop, because if I don't want my downlines to see it, then I can't log in when they are around. It should be as the old version, concealed until you explicitly click it.

Good job, and keep working, there's still much to do.

When I log into the site, my personal and group pv/bv pop up. I would prefer that this be removed. I often take a prospect or new IBO into the site by logging in myself and they do not need to know my persona;l business!

Hi Beth,

what happened to the recordings of Rich DeVos & Jay Van Andel you promised several months ago? I expected it would be part of either Quixtar University or new Quixtar website, but haven't found anything.

Do you have a launch date?

Thanks.

Comments re: new site..

I noticed Amway UK doesn't let you buy anything until they assign you an IBO number in advance, by request. I thought this was the way Quixtar.com started. Is Quixtar.com leading the way, or trying it out? In other words, is Amway going to have the same open site as Quixtar now does?

Another example of a closed site is the new fanista.com that Alticor has been funding. I haven't seen inside, but unlike what has been reported in the press the last week, I have NOT seen any information about the fanista.com site from Quixtar.

"A spokeswoman for Quixtar said the company's distributors have been notified about Fanista and are free to join, but the company is not doing anything special to get Amway distributors involved in Fanista yet."

It seems like joining would not follow the anti-compete rules.

Utah:  All orders that come in without an IBO number are assigned to an IBO.  We don't stop the transaction until a connection has been made, but from the time a new customer makes a purchase, they are assinged to an IBO.

IBOs may participate in the Fanista web site without violating Quixtar's non-compete rules because Fanista is an Alticor corporate entity.  The rules prohibit participation in a competing MLM or direct seller that has no affiliation with Alticor, Quixtar, or Amway.

SP:  Any day now.  I learned that the files had to be compressed due to size and they should be posted within a day or so.

SP -- the files should be up this week.  Will post when they're on the site.

Utah -- Any customer purchase at Quixtar.com is assigned to an IBO -- either a customer has an IBO coming in or if they don't, we assign them an IBO and the volume/order is attributed to that IBO's business.

Fanista is a company Alticor has invested in, therefore IBOs participating in Fanista are not violating non-compete rules (those apply to non-Alticor, Amway, Quixtar entities and competing businesses.) While IBOs are welcome to participate in Fanista either by making purchases or participating in Fanista's community, there is no direct link between Fanista and Quixtar.

Oh Beth ...

Could we call it "Opportunity Entrapment" in commenting to IBOs that it's OK to have a CIC account at Fanista, and then have your illustrious "leaders" sell their stake in the enterprise - now clearly making it a "competing MLM"?

Since there is a clear history of folks being held accountable for alleged rules breaches that are ambiguous at best, I'm thinking this one is clearly a "no brainer" -

Where can we go to read about THESE terminations?

If this is correct, the previous post from Beth is no longer correct:

Taken of the web, have no reason to think it is a fake, but no proof either...

To FC, IBOAI Board, Qualified Diamonds and above, and Qualified Platinums and above

Dear IBO Leader:Last month we informed you of the launch of a company supported by Alticor Corporate Enterprises called Fanista. Today, we are sharing with you the news that Alticor is no longer an investor in Fanista, as its interest has been purchased by Power of Entertainment, the company that built and is running the Fanista website.

Alticor’s involvement in Fanista was designed to bring us insights into the social networking phenomenon and how to marry e-commerce with online communities. Our experience with Fanista is just one example of our commitment to bringing innovation to our business. We are pleased that we were able to exit this investment opportunity this early, and we are excited about Fanista’s future.

Innovation remains our goal, and we'll continue to explore opportunities to gain insights that will make the AMWAY®/QUIXTAR® business stronger, and in particular, bring consumer learnings from other channels in the marketplace into our core direct selling businesses.

So what happens to those IBOs who did registered and become involved with Fanista?  Do they have to quit that now or else it's a violation of the anit-competition rule?  A little confused here.
